The Nuwejaars Wetland Special Management Area forms a part of the Elim Wine Route – where wineries create unique wines formed in our cool-climate conditions. The NWSMA is also home to coffee shops.

Strandveld Vineyards
Taste delicious First Sighting and Strandveld Wines at the Strandveld Vineyards. Strandveld is also a member of the Elim Wine Route, with the vineyards producing unique wines, crafted in the cool-climate conditions in the Nuwejaars Wetlands Special Management Area.

Black Oystercatcher
Enjoy wine (and beer) tastings at the Black Oystercatcher Tasting Room. The Black Oystercatcher is part of the Elim Wine Route, producing refreshing cool-climate wines. You can also enjoy a variety of snacks from the Deli, and wonderful gift options from the shop.

Fraser’s Folly Craft Beer
Beer tastings are also available at the Black Oystercatcher Tasting Room. We hand-select only natural ingredients; goods tested over generations. They’re wholesome and unprocessed, and lay the foundation for quality beer. Then there’s our cool, fresh, natural spring water – the heart of our beer.

Black Oystercatcher Deli
Create your own country lunch with fresh snacks from our deli. Choose from our selection of farm-fresh bread, cured meats, delicious cheese, and much more. (Deli options are subject to availability). We’re also serving wood-fired pizza, with a selection of toppings on our tasty farm-style crispy base.
